buildings and camping locations for overnight and day adventures.

opportunities to experience the ecosystem, bringing lessons to

Learning: Our SOLAR classroom
is a fresh approach to experiential learning.

the activities to enhance student achievement while reinforcing
a sense of responsibility and discovery.
Resources: Stronghold’s
outdoor classroom brings environmental education to life. Project-Paks
keep the experience alive back in your classroom.
The
SOLAR program is experience based, offering a
balance of physical activities and academic exercises. Topics
can include Nature and the Arts, Astronomy, Field Science, Atwood
Birds of Prey, Water/Soil Conservation, Geology, and Orienteering
with Maps and Compass, and many more. The curriculum is tailored
to meet your class' objectives and meets Illinois State Learning
Standards in all seven areas: language arts, math, science, fine
arts, social studies, foreign language, and physical education.
